The history of Philips’ involvement in X-ray technology begins with the history of two
companies: Philips, in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, and C.H.F. Müller in Hamburg,
Germany. Together, these two companies played a major role in the development of X-ray technology. Because it would be impossible to deal with every new development within the context of a single article, we have selected a series of milestones, illustrated by typical products from each era.
