Building guidelines for emergency care
On 27 June 2005, the Netherlands Board for Hospital Facilities (NBHF) established the latest building guidelines for emergency care.
These guidelines are supplementary to the building guidelines for general hospitals (the “umbrella guidelines”), approved by the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport at the end of 2002, which are intended for the hospital as a whole, and which define the relationships between the different functions in a hospital.
The building guidelines contain care-related principles, basic quality requirements, examples of good practice, and financial assumptions.
