Páginas: 130 págs.
Introducción:

These guidelines supersede the Queensland Health Capital Works Guidelines, Building and Refurbishment Infection Control and Sterilising guidelines (1997). Other documents that may provide assistance in regards to building and refurbishment include Queensland Health Infection Control Guidelines (2001), relevant Australian Standards and Section 1 of the Queensland Health Capital Works Guidelines. The aim of this document is to provide design principles that reduce the risk of exposure to infectious agents in health care settings, and information on infection control measures required during building and refurbishment activities.

This document has been revised by the Queensland Health Capital Works Branch and Communicable Disease Unit in collaboration with professional health care associations, clinicians, user groups and the Queensland Health Infection Control Expert Working Group. These guidelines are to be consulted when building or refurbishing health care facilities.
