Preámbulo: The aim of the project is to design and build a sustainable maternity and paediatric hospital (118 beds) in a developing country, providing top class medical facilities for diagnostic, treatment and intervention areas.
A locally based non government organization is running a small medical facility and is raising the money to build this new hospital. The facility will operate as a private hospital, with some agreements with the local health authorities. European doctors will fly to the hospital co carry out interventions, so they need European standards of quality of premises.
Total construction cost is estimated at 12,5 million euros, for a building area of 13.300 m2, divided into 5 levels, with diagnosis and intervention rooms and services areas located below ground, and patient and doctors? rooms located above ground. The hospital is designed with a maximum degree of autonomy with respect to the potential services of the city, because these are virtually non- existent: kitchen, laundry, sterilization, medical gases production, full back-up for the electrical supply.
